Excerpt from ONE TWO ONE TWO...
“It was Sue who urged Shawn to switch from being a half-assed hypnotherapist, to a guru. An educator, an entertainer, a star.” Henny took a sip of his coffee, blowing on it first.
Bill blew on his.
“A rising young star. She made the arrangements, the bookings and handled the money, and was becoming a star in her own right. People adored her and him equally and judging by the audience’s response, half the applause was for her and she relished in it. Her yellow dress with navy blue trim couldn’t have fit better. She wore it thinking, yellow might be, too distracting. She was wrong, she looked great! The compassion, the love. Everyone waving their arms rejoicing. Strangers, hugging one another, losing their inhibitions, crying. A gospel choir behind them swayed to enchanting music, played by a full mini-orchestra. Everyone rejoicing. A southern Pentecostal revival meeting. A TV evangelist. I’m talking, Ernest Angley, Bill!” Henny stopped talking to catch his breath.
