You've made some resolutions over the holidays towards writing. You've made up your mind to write that book and this year is the year you're going to make it happen.
How?
Lately, you have felt as if you've lost control over writing. You have no privacy, you have no time, you have too much work to do, you've got writer's block, the ribbon on your typewriter has run out of ink.
As a writer there is some things that you do have control over and that is what you write about and how much you write and where, when and how you want to write. Some writers write in bed, others at desks or at the kitchen table on a typewriter, on the computer, by ink and paper. Some early in the morning, others late into the night, the choice is yours.
What Should You Write About?
The things a writer can write about are endless. Pick a topic any topic. Do some research on the subject to familiarize yourself. If the subject is interesting enough, then viola, you're off!
How Much Should You Write?
This all depends on the writer. Some can't start but then again, there are others that can't stop. The choice is yours depending on the amount of time you want to spend writing. Quantity doesn't always reflect quality, remember that.
Where Should You Write?
Write where you are the most comfortable. It could be in a tree or down in a dank basement, wherever inspiration leads you. I personally sit at my desk in front of my desk top I-Mac. But lately, have had the inclination to purchase a new Mac Book lap top so I can work anywhere. Wherever the inspiration strikes, as they say.
Whatever you decide to write about, pick a medium you're most comfortable working with, find that perfect spot and start.
Putting pencil to paper is a good start.
