Just when I was thinking about reviving this blog, now I have a reason. I've been absent for some time, being busy with my other blog, Observations, when along comes Rick Watson with another book called Life Changes, Just Breathe, a companion book to his other two books, Remembering Big, Ponderings & Reflections of a Sloss Holler Scholar and Life Happens, Enjoy the Ride. The perfect bathroom readers, all three of them. Let me explain.
My favourite spot for reading is while I'm sitting on the John. Doctors' will tell you, don't spend too much time sitting on the John, you'll pay for it, later. Well, Ricks books are perfect for that type of activity. They're full of short, light, personal stories of what life is like, deep in southern Alabama, starring him and his wife Jilda.
Since I've started following Rick's Blog, Life 101 ~ From the Heart of Alabama and reading all three books, I've found out, both him and Jilda are a musical duet, with a CD. He's also a featured columnist in one of the local rags. If I could be getting those, I'd be reading them too. I wonder if they have a mailing list that I could get on?
Anyway, if you like light reading with all the emotional ups and downs a good book could offer then this book is for you.
